Anyone getting any birds this year? I've got a spruce and two ruffies this week.

I got 1 ruffled so far and seen a couple more, just walking the old dog with the shotgun, seems to be a few around.

I've got five, but it seems like a slow season for me. I've been seeing singles, and not a pile of them either.

Seems slow for me, more road birds than anything else but still not many. Did manage both my first woodcock and first spruce grouse a couple weeks ago which was great. Seems like when I've been getting into the thick stuff I'm flushing way more woodcock then grouse which is never the case  :)

Overall it sounds like a low numbers year. I’ve flushed aprox 30 so far (no dog) and knocked down 10 for lunch (9 Bush wacking, 1 quad trails). Got a hat trick a couple of Saturday’s ago and haven’t seen a bird since.
