I'm fairly certain it's illegal to hunt any bird of prey. This includes eagles, hawks, owls and ravens. I know from past experience it's illegal to have any bird of prey mounted without proper documentation from DNR stating the bird was tested and found to not have any traces of lead . Found a great horned owl around Lake Utopia and had to take it to DNR. Got a permit, after a couple of months and my frozen bird which had decomposed beyond mounting. Of course to get rid of it was another series of hoops to jump through.
