I think that 300 savage carttriges will be available in factory ammo for quite a few years yet because of the amount of 300 savages still in use, however the selection of ammunition is going to be a lot smaller than some of the more popular cartriges. There is only a couple of bolt action rifles that I am aware of that offer a model in 300 currently but there are a ton still in use and many in near new condition. Another option would to be to reload your own ammo or buy a set of reloading dies in 300 savage for someone that is already set up for reloading and have them reload for your rifle. The components for loading the 300 savage (powder, primers and sst bullets) would run about 80-90 cents per round.

The 300 savage is an excellent deer cartrige imo.
