Hey guys,

Does anyone know if there is much of a black bear population on the Kingston Peninsula (towards the southeast corner of it)? I've never heard of baiting there, but I thought it might be fun to throw out a bait and see what happens.

Probably true enough. The place I shot mine last year was suggested by Grinr, but there wasn't any sign when I set up the stand. Bears showed up fairly shortly, though. I had a secondary sight I placed with no visible sign as well, and I had action there in a little while after starting to bait.

I've literally found that the best approach I can recommend is find a good spot for a stand with your shooting lanes and visibility all set, then put out some bait, and they'll be there in no time. I've found it especially easy to bring a bear in during the spring season.

Right around $40, unless they put it up. I haven't gotten this year's yet.
