Mine would have to be moose hunting in the Yukon or the Northwest territories....it would be awesome to have one of those sixty inch bulls coming to your call...just seeing the country out there would be worth the trip.A close second would have to be a Rocky Mountain elk hunt.

One final good 'ol fashion deer or moose hunt anywhere in Canada, as long as my dad and 2 bros would come for one of his last hunt. It would be for me a way of saying thanks Pops for all the time you took me out instead of going out with your buds....it helped create the hunt nut that I am today. My brothers would certainly concur...

Yukon hunting - moose, mountain carribou, grizzly, wolf etc.... I just can't get enough of the movies and tv shows on this. Acutually was offered a guiding job back in 2006 but turned it down. Could have went and guided for Blackstone Outfitters in the Yukon. I also was offered a job by Canadian Mountain Outfitters. Short term employment though. Just can't live on a few months of work.

It is interesting to read the replies to the question regarding a "Dream hunt." I have two dream hunts I would like to take before I get too old to do so...a hunt for Bull Elk and a hunt for Trophy Bull moose in the Yukon. I go wild turkey hunting every spring in Vermont or New york state and its exciting and fun but the elk and moose hunt would be my dream hunts.
I'm already doing some searching/inquiries into organizing an elk hunt for some time in the next year or two. We'll see where that leads. Until then, just dreaming about such hunts is exciting!

predator one, where would you prefer to go Elk hunting? I've got "Parliament's approval" to go on an Elk hunt someday. I just forgot to negotiate a time line.

Hey Huntoomuch...
I'm not sure as yet...know guys/clients who have hunted Montana, Wyoming and New Mexico and my friend who hunted elk regularly in Wyoming really loved it there, the terrain wasn't too demanding and the elk were big with awesome racks...same way in New Mexico. Montana was physically demanding according to my buddy there although the elk were big as well. I am currently looking at pricing for a group or three or four hunters. I am an outfitter/professional guide and an outdoor writer so am exploring what discounts/bartering I can do to ease the strain on the old wallet for myself and who-ever wants to be in the group. Right now, I'm leaning toward Wyoming...
