Early Goose Season

Where are you going - up Keswick way I assume?
Heard there is alot of 'baiting' going on that DNR is looking out for this year!

Im glad they are on the look out for it, there was one particular field the last few years since the season started that all the geese kept dumping into all season because it was( so i heard) baited with corn, dont know if it was true but i know that fields that always had geese in them a week or so before the early season suddenly were never there , while even tho shot at hundreds of times geese kept going back to that field...kinda defeats the purpose of the season which is to get rid of some and discourage the rest of the geese from being in those fields, then again i heard a lot of people pay big bucks to the farmers for hunting rights

I will be getting out the first two days, hopefully have some good luck, We are looking at 600-800 birds in one of our fields so hopefully some honkers will be harvested.

I too heard that some farmers were getting some pretty good coin for the use of their fields.

Yup i have personally lost 2 good farms to to someone LEASING them, i think that is crap. I mean dont get me wrong we usually take up a collection between hunters and buy the farmer a gift card to marks or canadian tire, just to show our apprecitation. I dont think thats wrong i think thats just being nice. As far as baitting goes I hope the hunters get caught, If I knew of someone doing so i would report them in a minutes. Hunt fair, these birds are dumb as it is. In the early season anyways.

we have a few fields in the miramichi erea and here and their all over NB, we are 3 of us that got setted up this year with now over 36 full body green head decoy ,new guns and cabelas ultimat layout blind plus the gear we had before , we will be their the first day and well i got the whole second week of the early season off , and also the whole week of the moose season off as well , the season 2010 is starting off pretty good

How did you make out LimitorNothing? I hope to make it out this afternoon.
