Gun for coyotes

What gun can we use this time a year to hunt coyote under the Deer and Game Bird Licence? I know about the 223 for the Varmint Licence but I was just wondering if this applies to hunt coyote this time of year.

.223 or less pal...samething!
a rifle less than .23 , a 12 gauge with cartdrige not bigger than BB or a muzzleloader
Or a bow?
[sup]you can use a 22-250 also little more expensive for bullets but more punch and carrying power than the .223[/sup]
Thanks for the responses guys! Any good places to buy guns in the Moncton area? Doesn't need to be IN Moncton.

Give Keg at Sussex Outfitters a call...433-2727 I believe is the number.
I find him the best out of them all to deal with(Green Diamond/John Deere pretty good to)
I wouldnt give 5 cents to Bbuys, but thats just my opinion!

Tell Keg the crazy Miramichier recommended him(he'll know who your talking about)

Thoughts on something like this? keeping in mind that I don't expect this to perform like the 1000$ guns but would it be a good entry level gun?
Supposed to be a pretty good gun. I'd lean toward a Stevens 200 in that price range. Stevens 200 are great shooters, and they're inexpensive. Or a T/C Venture if you want to spend a bit more. Of course, the Ventures have been recalled, so I'm not sure the availability of them.
Stevens 200 before the Axis(edge) for me too...ya cant beat them for value! Tons of after markets parts available for them also!

Take a look at the Marlin XL7 as well(very good for the $)

i use a stevens in 22-250 in a boyds thumb hole stock. shoots flat out to 200 meters anddrops them dead.
I have decided to wait a bit for now but since it's mainly for coyote I will probably go with entry level one to get started.
There is a .223 like brand new on this site for sale, great entry level gun for the $$. Easternarcher is the sellers name. FYI.

Pretty sure whole sale sports is cheaper brand new and delivered to your door step though.
Hi everyone,

I would like to know your opinions on using a .17 HMR for coyote hunting? I never shot with that caliber but I heard that it's very accurate at 100 yards. All the yotes I have call in yet went under 50 yards from me so I am maybe considering buying a .17HMR. Right now, I am using a 22-250 with silver tip ammunitions. It's expansive to shot, so I shoot less and I am less accurate..

Let me know what do you think about that!
Lebaron has Camo Axis w/ Scope on for $370+taxes. Now thats a price I dont think any locals could touch....
I buy local as much as I can, but sometimes ya just cant!

Inside 100 yards the HMR is fine for yotes, but with that being said why on earth would you wanna hunt them with a HMR when you already have the 22-250.
If you find the ballistic silvertips to expensive to shoot then I'd suggest shooting Super-X or Federal blue box(or even the 40rd Winny White Box 45gr Hps)
Might not be as accurate but still not bad.

You already have the best varmit cal in the business pal!

Both guns are at a great price but I personaly prefer the Axis because of the clip rather than top load.
