I don't use mock scrapes but if I did if would be closer to the end of october than bow season. We've seen the most activity on scapes the last week of October down here when putting cameras on active or traditional scapes.
IMHO If you want to rattle in bow season keep it to tinkling the antlers and not banging them as in a real fight. Bucks this time of year spar a little but are more timid than they are later in the season. There isn't any hot does right now so if they are really fighting most bucks will avoid it.
