I was reading the thread below about hunting in Saskatchewan and got to thinking about Quebec. I am moving to Alfred Ontario right along the Ottawa river and will come back to N.B. and hunt and in Ontario this year. I was thinking i might be able to expand my bow hunting options as basically from the new house i can see across the river and lots of open ground over their. Anyone hunt as a non-resident in Quebec, do you need a guide etc...

I have hunted bear and caribou there and you don't need a guide, and they are strict about hunter orange there. Also being a big province, seasons and regs differ by area.

You don't need a guide for non- resident in Quebec. I was living there for many years and went back there many times to hunt as non-resident. Here's the provincial

There's only one restriction if you hunt north of the 52nd parallel, or east of the Saint-Augustin River in zone 19 south, you must necessarily resort to the services of an outfitter.
