Scent lok loses lawsuit

The most recent issue of Field and Stream there is a pretty good article on the lawsuit and basically it says the Scent Lok doesn't work. Even one of the scientists that worked for them said it doesn't work as did some of the people they paid to endorse it. The fact that it "reactivates" itself was also shown to be not true. Scent Lok is appealing on the basis that the judge didn't understand what they meant when they said it completely eliminated human scent. Apparently they meant that completely doesn't mean all scent all the time.
Its an interesting read and illustrates how quick we hunters are to believe in anything that somebody says will give us an edge and spend a lot of money on it even though we really don't know if it works or not.
Interesting study in human behaviour.

There is so much junk being sold to hunters today it's crazy . Everyone wants to do things the easy way , time for hunters to get back to the basics of woodsmanship .
Take a look at this http://www.hecsllc.com/ .

Give me a pair of rubber boots , a mackinaw jacket , humphrey pants and an iron sighted carbine and I'll show you a deer .

Never believed in the stuff to start with. You use the temperature needed to "reactivate" carbon and your suit would be burned up

There are hundreds of gimmicks out there to separate people from their money. gun/bow, a good pair of rubber boots and your nose in the wind or quartering
the rest is frills

I've got a pair of rubber boots I could give you, I don't have the other stuff but if I gave you the rubber boots could you maybe show me just a little deer?

- Bring your rubber boots by this fall , there's a pretty good chance one will be hanging on the pole . Better wear your rubber boots though , the trails a little damp .
