I was just remembering a story I heard about a hunter who opened their rifle case to discover a rusted, pitted gun.

With all the rain that's been falling in the past few days it might be a good idea, if you haven't already, to check your gear and especially your gun(s).
Don't trust the "stainless weather warrior models" .... they still require care and gun cases are notorious for holding moisture.

Definitely a good reminder, Bradley!!

I checked mine all out last evening. With all this rain, we ended up with a wet basement too. Wanted to make sure that no moisture had gotten to any of my firearms...not just the one i've been carrying. lol

I wipe down my rifle with a rag with some gun oil before and after i go hunting in the rain, my shotgun is camo finished, i dont bother wiping it down with oil but make sure i dry it out before storing it, usually an hour or two propped up behind the wood stove does the trick, and i try to never store a gun in the case
